Lindal & Marton Canoeing Day

​Today we went Canoeing with Lindal & Marton Primary School.

Mike and Liam picked the team up from the school and came over to Coniston Water to meet Dan with the canoes and kit van.

Some of the team had been canoeing with us during last years residential in Ennerdale so they knew what to do with the canoes to turn them into rafts to head out to the Peal Island AKA… “Wild Cat Island”.

After a hard paddle in the wind then a sail it was time to dock for an explore. The teams made themselves a shelter and ate lunch before heading back to the canoes for more paddling, fun and then home.

Mike and I are looking forwards to May when we are all in the Dales for their 2013 residential - caving, ghyl scrambling, rock climbing, mountain walking (can they get to the top of Ingleborough?) and more…
