Course Overview

The turbo SPA brings you closer to the MIA remite thereby extending the scope the SPA holder operate. The course will look in detail at additional rope systems and teaching progressions. An essential course for anyone looking at progression to the next level. This award is for instructors working in summer conditions and covers multi-pitch rock climbing, teaching rock climbing, scrambling and other mountaineering skills.

The course covers the technical aspects of rock climbing and mountaineering for the mountaineering instructor together with essential training in cliff rescue, as well as sessions on skill acquisition, the mountain environment, strategies for teaching navigation and the role of the MIA holder in the ML scheme.
