  • Morning Dan,

Thanks for organising the day of Kayaking for us.

The day was indeed great, not only did we have fantastic weather, but the wildlife seemed to come out to play too. Countless dippers, many king fishers, fish (trout or salmon, couldn’t work it out, but they were quite large) in the river, buzzards and even a fox came to play on the bank.

The kayaking was just the right level. Starting relatively easy and getting progressively more challenging (for our beginner white water level) through the day.

Other than me taking a dive and losing my shoes within the first 20 minutes we both really enjoyed the day. Although somehow I managed to hurt my arm in my innocuous looking swim and it is still pretty sore!

The day was good, Steve was great in providing instruction, observing us, pacing the day correctly, providing input when needed and plenty of discussion along the way.

I think if we visit again in the near future we’d very much like to join another trip and try to improve our skills, or even come for a dedicated course. We enjoyed it but recognise our skills need to significantly improve to unlock more fun and larger water.

    Thanks

    Randall
