QUALIFICATIONS
Overview
The goal of outdoor qualifications is to promote high standards of supervision and leadership so that both enjoyment and safety are enhanced, without compromising either the sport or the participation of others. They are valid throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and are recognized by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA).
Real Adventure works closely with providers of NGB courses and we work on many of their courses, training and assessing people every year. Please have a look through the relevant schemes for course details and dates.

funding for training
A common query from potential award candidates is whether any funding is available for their Training or Assessment course.
So it’s worth knowing about the Train to Gain Skills Enhancement Fund. This pot of cash is available to assist with the funding of a variety of key outdoor sector qualifications.
The provisos are that learners benefiting must work or volunteer within the Yorkshire or Humber regions although training providers can be from anywhere within the UK. The eligible MLT Awards are ML,WGL,SPA and CWA. The funding will cover 50% of the cost of the course up to a maximum of £150 to £250 per person depending upon the level of the qualification.
